Vermes István – Slovakia

I first heard about Kassai Lajos in connection with a video clip that used to be the cover of a film that was never made.
In this mini movie he played the role of a horseback archer.
I only knew the story based on short stories, however it affected me so much that I was talking about this topic to everyone and just couldn’t get the story out of my head.
It happened in 1993.
One year later we met in the castle of Buda and afterwards in his estate.
It was unforgettable and defining experience.
And this was the moment when I found the lifestyle that I am still dedicated to.
I participated in the first competition in 1995 and since then I am still practicing it.
Step by step a small community had been developing around me and I tried to create the conditions of the existence of the community, and the horseback archery became the spine of the whole project.
Perhaps due to this, Lajos proposed me to be the leader of the tribe.
I respectfully accepted and since then the tribe has been operating.
We meet regularly at trainings, competitions and performances .
I was lucky to learn from the opportunities provided by the archery school.
My main purpose was to incorporate it into our daily life as a family and to be a part of my job and belief as well.
I always found the community way of life attractive and fortunately via the archery school.
This system provides a comprehensive set of values, and knowledge that may serve as a core of a precious life.
It strengthens family, nation and home.
